This piece is a homage to The Kiss by Gustav Klimt. The artist has always admired how the painting manages to bring forth a deep sense of passion, ecstasy & delight. Thus, he wanted to recreate the painting from a Vietnamese perspective; combining traditional Vietnamese outfits with Indochine patterns & aesthetics.

About the Artist

Most of Jim's works revolve around people; specifically their emotions and feelings. More often than not, it is difficult to figure out how to visually express something so abstract like a person’s inner world in a satisfying manner. A great inspiration for him are musicians and their approach to music; melody and composition, colours and lyrics—there is just so much in common that he personally can’t think of a work of art without relating it to music. He hopes that his works can one day sing to their viewers, even if they aren’t audible.
