Mother Nature's Kiss

Inspired by Gustav Klimt's The Kiss, the artwork depicts Mother Nature (Inang Kalikasan) in an embrace with the dense Motherland (Inang Bayan), as if the former is reminding us to consider her during mankind's expansion. The artist references the landscape and green scenery of Baguio City, the dense local housing of Taguig City and the high-rise buildings of Ortigas, all located in the Philippines.

About the Artist

Rommel Cahilo is an architect and illustrator based in Pasig, Philippines. He studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and currently designs commercial spaces. He uses pens and markers to illustrate store facades and different urban landscapes.
