In researching Basquiat's body of work, Nadia felt instantly drawn to his painting To be Titled—finding it extremely expressive and well-composed within its street art style. She chose to reinterpret his painting with the concept of home. Being born in Indonesia, her identity has been shaped by the diversity of culture in the country; from its many ethnic groups to the variety of flora and fauna originating from the land. To signify Indonesia's rich history, Nadia chose to depict the various architecture and designs from Dutch colonialism, the Batak tribes of North Sumatra, as well as the Peranakan descendants of Chinese immigrants.
