Born in Singapore, YU Cookies & YU Tarts bring the flavours of our island to life through thoughtfully crafted treats made for sharing.

Our name, YU (屿), means “island” in Chinese—a tribute to Singapore, where our story began. Founded by members of the National University of Singapore’s Food Science and Technology department, YU brings together a love of food, a foundation in food science and the flavours we call home.

We launched YU Cookies in 2023 with a simple ambition: to create delicious, sugar-conscious cookies using premium ingredients and no preservatives. In 2025, YU Tarts joined the family, bringing a fresh expression to the much-loved pineapple tart.

Our collection celebrates Singapore’s rich food culture and its Nanyang heritage—the traditions shaped by Chinese communities in Southeast Asia and their encounters with local ingredients and tastes. From aromatic Tangerine Pu-erh Tea Cookies to buttery Coffee Macadamia Cookies and fragrant Pineapple Tarts, each creation offers a connection to the flavours enjoyed here, with a playful, contemporary touch.

The story continues beyond the last bite. Our cookies and tarts come with reusable mini carriers, designed to be kept and used again—a small step towards more sustainable gifting and a lasting reminder of your visit.
